We are perhaps the oldest organization of Senior Citizens in Navi Mumbai. During the early eighties, CIDCO was developing the new township of Navi Mumbai. A large population of retired persons chose to settle down in Navi Mumbai as they found Greater Bombay to be congested and the cost of real estate there to be very high. These retired people belonged to different professions, castes and creeds. Very soon they felt the need for a common platform where they could meet, exchange ideas and share experiences. Thus a small group of 7-8 retired persons came together, discussed this social need and founded the Senior Citizens’ Club, Vashi on the 12th Sept. 1982. Shri N M Supnekar, a retired police officer, was the Founder President. The Club was registered as a Public Charitable Trust in the same year. It caters to the social and recreational requirements of the senior citizens.
